Police in Japan arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly killing and dismembering the body of his mistress in his home on the south coast of Japan in Shizuoka prefecture, according to a report by Thethaiger.
Police found the body of the 33-year-old single mother, Ayumi Ito, in the home of Yuki Tsuchiya, a married man with whom she allegedly had an affair.
Some of Ito’s body parts were found on the balcony of Tsuchiya’s home and some in his car.
Tsuchiya, an advisor for an insurance company was arrested after he confessed to attacking Ito in her car and striking her with a blunt object before using a cord to strangle her to death. He then dismembered her in his home, where he was said to have lived with his wife, two young children, and his elderly father.
The suspect's neighbors in the city of Numazu said they heard suspicious noises coming from Tsuchiya's home.
An elderly neighbor in his 60s told reporters that on the night of the tragedy, he heard “rattling and banging” noises coming from Tsuchiya's home.
Ito’s car was found abandoned in a car park near Tsuchiya's home, about 230 meters away from where she was murdered and dismembered.
She lived in Iwata city, some 130 km away, about a two-hour drive from the location of the incident.
Tsuchiya is believed to have met Ito in 2022 when they both worked on a committee for the development of Shizuoka prefecture.
This incident came in the wake of a similar case in Hong Kong where police found the headless body of 28-year-old socialite Abby Choi in a village house in Tai Po.
The model was earlier reported missing.
Police discovered her skull in a cooking pot, and some of her dismembered body parts were cooked and stored in a refrigerator.
Investigations showed that the house was recently rented by her ex-husband’s father
Choi’s former husband, former brother-in-law, former father-in-law, and former mother-in-law have been charged with the murder.
Police also arrested the mistress of Choi’s former father-in-law.
