Woman Lived With Her Father's Corpse For 15 Years Until Her Death.

Police in Portugal found the decomposing body of a woman and her mummified father at a house in Oeiras, Portugal, according to a Mirror Online report.

The discovery followed reports by neighbors that a foul smell was coming

from the house in the past couple of weeks.

The woman, aged between 55 and 65, and her father, 8, had moved into the property in the village of Linda-a-Velha, Oeiras, Portugal after he was widowed in 2001.

The woman is believed to have lived with her dad's corpse for 15 years before she eventually died last month.

Police were shocked to find the remains of her deceased 80-year-old father lying in a bed in the bedroom in a mummified state, wearing pajamas.

They found the home full of rubbish and 

Firefighters had to enter the property through a window after they were unable to force the door open.

Neighbors told the police that they had not seen the man in the past 15 years and that the woman was always alone and rarely spoke to anyone in the area.

According to local media, the man's documents expired in 2005.

Both the man and his daughter are believed to have died of natural causes.

However, Police said the investigation is ongoing and analysis would be carried out on the bodies to establish the exact causes of their death.

Similarly, last month, Police in Texas, United States discovered a man, believed to have been living with a decomposing corpse.

Authorities said the man, in his 60s, had been living with the corpse for several months before taking his own life.

Police said the relationship between the two men is still not clear, but they seemed to have been living together in the house.

Police were invited to the home after a neighbor sensed a foul odor and thick flies flying out of the property located in northwest Harris County

Shortly before police entered the property, officers heard a gunshot and went inside to find a man lying on the bedroom floor with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They also found another severely decomposing body of a man, who was about the same age, in a separate room, authorities said.

Detectives have opened investigations into the cause of death of the decomposed body.
