Tinubu is not suitable for Nigeria's highest political office- Atiku's camp.

Supporters of the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, the PDP, Atiku Abubakar have said that the APC flag bearer, Bola Tinubu is not fit to be Nigeria's president on account of the blunders he has made since he publicly declared his presidential ambition.

Atiku's camp while reacting to a recent comment made in Kaduna by Tinubu about Kaduna state governor Nasir El- Rufai also described Tinubu as tired and weak.

The All Progressives Congress flag bearer, Bola Tinubu while speaking on Saturday at the 7th Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest), said that Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, turned a “rotten situation into a bad one.”

Tinubu went further to say that "I am openly begging Governor El-Rufai not to run away from additional degrees like Ph.D. or others. There are educated derelicts,”

"We are not going to let you run away. Your vision, creativity, and resilience in turning a rotten situation into a bad one are necessary at this critical time and that is why we are here.”

In reaction, Atiku Abubakar's Special Assistant, Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu described Tinubu's comment as unpardonable and one gaffe too many, insisting that “Tinubu is tired and should go home and rest.”

Shaibu said  "We wish to call the attention of Nigerians to the unsuitability of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nation’s highest office on account of a series of blunders he has made since he publicly declared his presidential ambition,” he said.

"Speaking at the 7th edition of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest 7.0) on Saturday, Tinubu had said El-Rufai ‘turned a rotten situation into a bad one.

“When you look at the APC presidential candidate, you will see someone that is tired and weak. You have also heard the many gaffes that have come from him even before the kick-off of campaigns. The Kaduna comment is one gaffe, too many, and therefore unpardonable. You don’t have to be president at all costs; when you are tired, you go home, Shaibu added.

"Nigeria is currently in a dire situation with every sector of the economy in deep decay; therefore, the nation cannot afford to hand over a sick nation to a sick president.”

Shaibu pointed out that on June 8, 2022, it was a security agent that helped Tinubu when he staggered and nearly fell while stepping out to make his address at Eagle Square, where the APC convention was held.

He insisted that the country needs a  healthy person who is capable of pulling her out of the present economic and security challenges, noting that Tinubu's noticeably shaking hands as he delivered his address at the APC convention betrayed his ill health.

“The media is awash with reports of how the APC presidential candidate in August 2021 spent over 60 days, touring hospitals abroad, where he was treated for an undisclosed ailment. So, is this the kind of president that we want for our country at a time of unprecedented economic and security challenges?

"This country deserves a fit leader. The office of the President is not for ailing people. Tinubu has tried his best but he is now weak and tired and should be allowed to go home and take a deserved rest,” Shaibu noted.

With your support, I will win - Tinubu tells El- Rufai.

Meanwhile, the APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has called for the support of Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai for his presidential ambition.

Tinubu who was speaking in Kaduna on Saturday, during the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit said he is confident he will win the 2023 presidential election if he gets the support of El- Rufai.

He said, “I am confidently telling you that I will win with your support and I know you are very supportive of me. I know that I am at home here in Kaduna.

"We will continue to prioritize the restoration of peace and security across all our territories. I am confident. Under my leadership, the government will emphasize the use of counterinsurgency doctrine as a strategy by our military. We will fight it together,”

"We will continue to train and equip our gallant forces and security personnel with resources, equipment, and technology necessary to eliminate crime in our society. Nigeria will succeed and grow to prosperity. I assure you. I will champion an efficient government that will eliminate revenue leakages across federal areas leveraging technology…”Tinubu added.

Tinubu further assured that with him as president, no part of the country would be abandoned to terrorists and robbers.

While commending Governor El-Rufai for being a thinker, Tinubu urged the governor to remain in the country and work with him in 2023.

"Don’t run away from Nigeria in 2023 because we need your creativity at this critical time,’’ Tinubu said.
