“The victims were taken to the Alex Ekuweme Federal Teaching hospital, Abakaliki, FETHA 2,  and before they could get there, two of the victims died while others with bullet injuries are now receiving treatment.

"Everybody around the location of the incident went inside their houses for fear of becoming victims.”

According to Channels Television, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ebonyi state Command, SP, Chris Anyanwu confirmed the incident in a telephone interview in Abakaliki on Saturday.

Anyanwu said that the two Ebube-Agu operatives were killed around 10 pm on Friday in the Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

He said that the Command has commenced investigations into the incident and also is making efforts to arrest the culprits.

In September a security operative of Ebubeagu was attacked and killed at his duty post by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Mkpuma Ekwa-Oku Community in the Izzi Local Government Area of the State, Sahara Reporters said.

Lately, the Ebubeagu security outfit has been severally accused of abduction and torture of government political opponents and violent disruption of opposition political party activities in Ebonyi state.
