The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has asked the
British government to prevail on the authorities in Nigeria to release him from detention before the end of the Buhari administration in May 2023.
Kanu was speaking
when a British diplomat, Heather Wilkie, visited him at the DSS facility where he is being detained.
According to Saturday Vanguard the IPOB leader, who is a British citizen also complained to the diplomat that the UK government has not done much to ensure that he is freed from detention, despite the many visits by its representatives.
He expressed his fear that he may have to go through a fresh round of legal battles under a new administration if he was not freed by the Buhari administration, which is detaining him.
