"Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade," Elon Musk tells Twitter workers

As part of his ongoing reorganization drive, Twitter's new Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Elon Musk has told his staff that they have to either commit to working long hours at high intensity or leave the company, saying that Twitter “will need to be extremely hardcore” to succeed.


"This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” he said.

In an email entitled, " A Fork in the Road" reportedly sent to workers on Wednesday, Musk asked his workers to pledge if they wanted to stay.


"Those who choose to stay should expect long, intense hours of work. Those who leave will receive three months’ severance pay," Musk noted.


According to Washington Post, workers who failed to sign up by Thursday would receive the three months' compensation pay.


Workers were directed to click on a link by 17:00 EST on Thursday if they wanted to be “part of the new Twitter”.


In the email, the American richest billionaire said, “Whatever decision you make, thank you for your efforts to make Twitter successful.”


The workers, according to Musk would be expected in the office for at least 40 hours a week.
