A fire outbreak at Elekahia, a densely populated area of Port Harcourt, Rivers state on Friday morning displaced over 200 persons with goods and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
The fire was caused by a kerosene explosion and started at about 8:30 am when most residents were not around as
some traveled for the Christmas festivities, while others were out for work, The PUNCH reports.
An official of the Federal Fire Service, John Nnaemeka, said because of the nature of the buildings in the area, they were unable to access the scene of the fire, although they arrived early.
