Woman To Spend 4 Years In Jail For Assaulting, Humiliating Husband For 20-years.

The Hull Crown Court, in the UK, handed a 4-year jail sentence to an abusive woman who assaulted, taunted, threatened, and humiliated her husband for 20 years.

Sheree Spencer, 45 was also given an indefinite restraining order about her husband, Richard.

Prosecutor, Michele Stuart-Lofthouse, said that Spencer and her husband, Richard had been together since 2000 and lived in Bubwith, near Selby, in the UK at the time, NaijaParrot reported.

Sheree Spencer, a mother of three, and prison security guard was said to have persistently attacked Richard during which she punched, kicked, slapped, and bit him, leaving him in fear and feeling trapped. She called him a p****  while beating him daily and forced him to clean up her faeces.

Sheree also damaged Richard's laptops, phones, and clothes and permanently disfigured his ear.

Videos shown to the court revealed persistent, nasty physical and emotional abuse, sometimes several times a day.

Sometimes, Richard was seen cowered on his hands and knees on the floor as he was threatened and assaulted by his wife, who showed utter contempt for him and sometimes whispered in his face in the most sinister way.

The court heard that Sheree shouted orders at Richard after drinking three bottles of wine a day.

Sheree continued to claim she was the victim even after she was arrested.

However, she confessed to exhibiting coercive and controlling behavior between January 2016 and June 2021 and three offenses of assaulting Richard and causing him actual bodily harm, between January and April 2020.

Delivering her judgment, Judge Kate Rayfield told Sheree that the abuse of her husband was the worst case of controlling and coercive behavior she had seen.

Despite her sentencing, Sheree was still seen smiling as she left the dock to be taken down to the cells.

Her defense lawyer Richard Pratt KC said that there was little if anything that could be said in mitigation.

Pratt said: "It's a shocking, distressing case. Alcohol played the most significant part in what happened."
