*Nigerians sign petition for Simon Ekpa's arrest.
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has again stated that Simon Ekpa does not belong to the group, and as such nobody should link him with the IPOB.
In a statement on Friday by the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful the group said it will expose Ekpa so that people will know who he truly is.
“IPOB will stop at nothing from exposing Simon Ekpa. We must expose him for clarity’s sake, and nobody should link him with IPOB. He is not our member and can never be an IPOB member,” the statement said.
“Time is coming for Ndigbo both at home and in the diaspora to show Ifeanyi Njoku “aka” Simon Ekpa and his sponsors what Ndigbos are made of.
IPOB also noted that the recent order given by Ekpa for Southeast residents to sit at home for five days helped to prove that Ekpa is an enemy of the self-determination group as he gave that directive to ensure that lives and properties were destroyed in the region.
“We thank God Almighty that Simon Ekpa used this recent sit-at-home order to understand that Ndigbo doesn’t follow men of perverse spirit like him. It allowed Ndigbo and the entire Biafrans to know that Simon Ekpa is not an IPOB member and will never be.
The group clarified that its lawsuit against Simon Ekpa is not just for damages, but to fulfill its duty," to expose him so people will know him for who he truly is, a saboteur."
“Let it be known that IPOB did not take Simon Ekpa, Ifeanyi Njoku to court just for damages, but IPOB has a duty to expose him so people will know him for who he truly is, a saboteur."
IPOB also came out strongly in defense of its lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor's actions to "defend whatever can bring damage to the IPOB movement."
IPOB leader with his legal team
“Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor is IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer. He is not an IPOB member. Therefore, he has the legal right as a lawyer to defend whatever can bring damage to the IPOB movement.
“Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor knew very well that IPOB did not issue the 5-day- sit-at-home order that was used to destroy the lives and properties of Biafrans and lovers of freedom across the SouthEast Region this month.”
It stated, “Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor has the backing of IPOB to protect their interests and their rights. He did what is necessary as a person who has been defamed several times and also as IPOB legal counsel to protect the hard-earned image of the Movement than watch the sponsored criminals destroy Igboland in the name of IPOB.
“No amount of negative or hypocritical comment can distract us from our mission of restoring Biafra,” IPOB said.
Arrest Simon Ekpa now - Nigerians
Nigerians from across the globe on Thursday began signing a petition asking the Finnish government, the European Union, and the Nigerian Government to arrest Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader.
The action was sparked by the 5-day- sit-at-home order given to residents of the Southeast region by Ekpa and the wanton destruction of lives and properties unleashed on the region by gunmen purportedly enforcing Ekpa's order.
Angered by the violent disturbances, Nigerians are signing the petition calling for Ekpa to be arrested and investigated for “terrorism and genocide.”
The petition read: “We call on the Finnish Government, EU, and The Nigerian Government to arrest Mr. Simon Ekpa and investigate all his heinous crimes and terror activities in Eastern Nigeria.

“One Simon Ekpa (also known as Ifeanyi Njoku), a Nigerian living in Finland and holding Finnish citizenship, has by proxies, successfully established and coordinated an armed rebel group in Eastern Nigeria whom he now wields to destroy lives, property, and businesses in Eastern Nigeria.
“He’s been seen countless times, using his media platforms in Finland to issue orders to his armed goons in Eastern Nigeria to launch deadly attacks on millions of people in the region for flouting his sit-at-home orders.
“Simon is a separatist fighting for state secession but has never been brave enough to come home and lead the war from the front in Nigeria.
“He is rather igniting and fueling terror in his ethnic group who decline his call for secession.
“Simon’s action is stirring up a bloodbath – genocide in the region, and innocent women, children, the aged and youths are the victims dying every day.
“Sign the petition, and share it everywhere, to call on the Finnish Government, EU, and The Nigerian Government to arrest Mr. Simon Ekpa, and investigate all his heinous crimes and terror activities in Eastern Nigeria.”
The Finland-based Simon Ekpa, in a viral video, directed the people of the South-East to sit at home from December 9-14, 2022 to protest Nigeria's upcoming general election due next year.
However, IPOB, other pro-Biafra groups, and even Ohanaeze, the top Igbo socio-cultural group opposed Ekpa's directive and asked residents to ignore the illegal order.
In what appeared to be an attempt to force residents to obey the sit-at-home order, some armed criminals attacked businesses, burnt homes, and markets, and killed people across the Southeast.
