Protect your lives, businesses— IPOB tells Igbos resident in Lagos.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has decried the silence of many Yoruba political, traditional, and religious leaders over the ongoing attacks on Igbos and their businesses in Lagos.

IPOB said the silence of such leaders indicates that they support the destructive activities of the criminals and political thugs loyal to the former chairman of the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo.

IPOB's reaction is coming in the wake of persistent verbal, physical, and arson attacks on Igbos and their businesses in Lagos, following the outcome of the recently concluded presidential election in the state, which was won by Labour Party's Peter Obi.

The pro-self-determination group also stated that the abduction of Igbo residents of Lagos and threats to forcefully push them out of Lagos, coming from the politically sponsored criminals is a threat to the entire Biafra nation.

IPOB maintained that the recent upsurge in anti-Igbo sentiments in Lagos is a pointer that the long-existing bitterness between the two ethnic groups cannot be healed.

A statement by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful urged Igbos residents in Lagos to begin to prepare their minds to make the hard but life-saving decision of relocating from Lagos state to safer areas.

However, the IPOB noted that in the meantime, it is crucial for Igbos residing in Lagos State to protect their lives and businesses that are being threatened by criminals.

According to the statement; "The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great indefatigable liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu condemn the numerous abductions and attacks on Ndigbo resident in Lagos by the notorious thugs and criminals led by MC Olomo, who is the leader of Lagos State Government political thugs.

"The anti-Igbo sentiments, threat, attacks, and abductions of Igbo traders, residents, and businesses threatening them to vacate Lagos is a threat to the entire Biafra Nation.

"It is quite unfortunate that Yoruba political, traditional, and religious leaders are keeping quiet on the raging anti-Igbo sentiments in Lagos, Nigeria, which shows that they are on the same page to forcefully eject Ndigbo out of Lagos.

"In the interim, we encourage Ndigbo to form gallant groups to defend themselves from the tribal vagabonds and political thugs. Yoruba criminals and cultists recruited by the politicians are pushing the Igbos and expecting us to react and we must respond to them shortly," IPOB maintained.
