The Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Binta Nyako has nullified the primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State.

The PDP in Ebonyi state under the leadership of Silas Onu had elected Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as its gubernatorial candidate during the party's first primary election held on May 28th and 29th 2022.
A factional election that produced Obinna Ogba as a factional governorship candidate was held on the 4th and 5th of June 2022 under Mr. Tochukwu Okorie's leadership.
However, Justice Binta Nyako nullified all the PDP primary elections conducted under Silas Onu and gave fourteen days (14 days) for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to conduct fresh primary elections, according to Dail Post.
Reacting to the development, the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Tochukwu Okorie while confirming the nullification of the Party’s primaries said the party will soon make its position known as regards the decision of the Federal High.
